In mid-October, I took a boat ride on Mirror Lake amid peak fall color. You can see why it’s called Mirror Lake – crystal clear reflections of trees and bluffs provided great inspiration for future artworks. Click on the images for larger versions.
After the boat ride, we visited the Seth Peterson Cottage, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the late 1950s. The cottage fell into disrepair and was rehabilitated by a group of people who had no previous investment in the property. Anyone can rent the cottage by the night and experience what it’s like to live in a building designed by the architectural genius. This 800 sq. ft. dwelling integrates with the environment and gives a feeling of intimacy in an often busy state park.
