Pt Reyes National Seashore is about an hour’s drive north of the Bay area. Thursday began a little foggy, but the sun was shining by the time we got to the Visitor’s Center. We stopped at a beach with an area where we could eat lunch while we watched elephant seals ignore the people who came to see them. There were 2 bachelor males at this stretch of beach, one was just feet from the parking lot.
Visitors are warned to stay 300 feet from these giants. The can move very quickly when motivated.
We drove on to the lighthouse and enjoyed the view of the wave action a little more than 500 ft below. We could see Grey Whales in the distance, but not well enough to get good photos of them. Still, it was nice to know they were out there.
